About Washington County CDA

In 1974, the State of Minnesota established the Washington County Housing and Redevelopment Authority, having all of the powers and duties of a housing and redevelopment authority as established by State Law, but only upon approval of a resolution of a majority of the Board of County Commissioners of Washington County declaring the need for an authority.

On July 29, 1980, the County Board adopted Resolution No. 80-87 “Declaring the Need For and Establishing a Housing and redevelopment Authority in Washington County, Minnesota”. On January 13, 1981, the County Board appointed the Board of Commissioners for the Housing and Redevelopment Authority. On January 14, 1981, the State Office of Local and Urban Affairs signed the Certificate of Filing Resolution declaring the need for a Housing and Redevelopment Authority.

Mission Statement

Through innovation, the Washington County Housing and Redevelopment Authority promotes community and economic development, and provides and maintains affordable, decent and safe housing opportunities in Washington County.
